Angleški opis: With the national scholarship system the state ensures that young people who would not otherwise be able to afford to study can do so. A country with a population as small as Slovenia's must do its best to provide young people with suitable professional education, which is the only way of ensuring that they will be competitive on the labour market. To begin with, the aim was to provide secondary-school and university students from low-income backgrounds with financial assistance to cover the period during which they were unable to obtain a company scholarship
